Getting the team talking for Time To Talk Day 2022

On February 4th, the day after Time To Talk Day, the team at Cite spent the afternoon trekking through a 7-mile route and raised over £450 for one of our charity partners, LAMP

I wanted to raise awareness for Time To Talk Day, and with the agency being notoriously busy at the moment, due to huge growth, getting the team together for some social time was a no-brainer. The best way I could think of raising awareness for Time To Talk Day was committing everyone to a challenging walk; encouraging people to get talking, allowing people an afternoon focusing on their wellbeing, and experiencing physical exercise (which is good for mental health).

It can get tough for people when a workplace is extremely busy, so the Time To Talk Challenge was a nice way to cover a few bases. It’s super important to put emphasis on culture and team-time, it’s easy to forget the beating heart of an agency - the team members.

What is Time To Talk Day?

Time To Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health event, run annually by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. 1 in 4 people will face a mental health challenge in any given year, and that’s just the people who have opened up, most suffer in silence. This annual event is all about removing the stigma around talking, which couldn’t be more important.

How did it go?

There was overwhelmingly positive feedback from all of the team at Cite, who said they got to know their team better - especially newer members. We also raised over £450 for the LAMP charity, which is a fantastic additional bonus!
