Encouraging colleagues to support eachother during Ramadan ❤️

For my second proactive piece for the Conscious Inclusion Council at McCann Central, I put together a short newsletter on how we can support and accommodate colleagues during Ramadan.

People often forget that being inclusive is a conscious mindset, not something you can choose when to switch on or off. A religious event such as Ramadan is the perfect example of when being kind, accepting and inclusive towards fellow colleagues (who partake) can go a long way.

If you’re confused as to what the Conscious Inclusion Council is, read my previous article.

During Ramadan, unsurprisingly, a lot of those who partake may be more tired than usual or dealing with a range of emotions. In the heat of the ‘agency world’ I’ve seen people continue to treat these employees the same as normal and choose ignorance over context.

Some argue that Ramadan is a religious choice and others even say that those who partake shouldn’t be granted privileges for doing so. These ill-informed views are detrimental - nobody is perfect but being aware, respectful and understanding can work wonders. It’s also simply being kind and human. From this, I put together the below article, highlighting simple ways everyone can support each other during Ramadan.
